QUEST is the Outdoor and Adventure division of the Atomic Events Centre and provides quality outdoor education and coordinates the following events.
Our aim is to provide young people with adventure opportunities that will equip them with the skills and experiences required to make good life choices, and to empower them to take control of their lives. We aim to help young people discover their potential through adventure.
THE MAD MAGPIE RACE: 4th October 2008 The MAD MAGPIE is a fun entry level Adventure Race and is open to teams of four in three divisions: BOYS | GIRLS | MIXED. There are now 2 age categories: high school, and NEW for 2008: the intermediate category! The event is in a format that will allow experienced teams to be challenged but novice teams will still find the event fun and achievable. The 2008 event is based in Napier and will include challenges that will test teamwork, trust and mental and physical strength and be a lot of fun!

HASTINGS PAK’n SAVE GO-4-12 18th April 2009 The Hastings PAK’n SAVE GO-4-12 Youth Adventure Race is The Official New Zealand Secondary School Adventure Racing Championships. It is an authentic adventure race with the core disciplines consisting of mountain biking, walking/running, kayaking, rope skills and navigation. The race is 12 hours in duration and the teams of four will face both physical and mental challenges while covering a picturesque course designed by experienced adventure racers. The 2008 event will be the 3rd year that the event has been staged and will lead participants through new country that promises to test their bodies and minds but still remain a fun day out in the outdoors.

HASTINGS PAK’n SAVE TRIPLE PEAKS CHALLENGE 21st March 2009 About to be in its 19th year, the Hastings PAK’n SAVE Triple Peaks Challenge can truly be called an iconic event. Much of the picturesque course is on private land and can only be accessed on this one special day. The course provides a day of adventure like no other and encompasses three of Hawke’s Bay's most prominent peaks, Mt Erin, Mt Kahuranaki and Te Mata Peak. The 47km course provides a unique Hawke's Bay experience, meeting the needs of all cross country runners, walkers and mountain bikers. The event is open to individuals and teams of 3 and 4-6 and attracts everyone from complete novices taking part in the Workfit Challenge, through to some of New Zealand’s most experienced athletes vying for the podium finish and a share of almost $5000 in cash prizes. The Triple Peaks Challenge is an authentic adventure in the heart of Hawke’s Bay Wine Country.
